Women's Cross Country

Kathryn is in her third year on the Tech squad...a talented athlete with a competitive spirit...competes in the fall cross country season and also during the spring track season...selected twice as a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in recognition of her academic efforts.

AT TECH (In 2011-12): Kathryn ran in five cross country meets in 2011, posting greatly improved times from the beginning of the season to the end...posted a season-best 5K time of 21:52 at Jacksonville State.

(In 2009-10): Kathryn competed in all six meets for the Golden Eagles in her freshman campaign, and proved to be a consistent runner...best time was at the Evansville meet, where her time of 22:01.78 was enough to achieve a third-best showing for the squad...also placed fourth at the Vanderbilt, TTU, Furman and OVC meets...participated in the 800m and mile run events during the spring indoor track season...best time in the 800m of 2:42.63 achieved at the TSU meet...reached a best time in the mile run of 5:50.75 at the OVC Indoor Championship meet...competed in the 800m and 1,500m events in all five meets during the outdoor season...achieved a best time in the 800m of 2:34.82 at the OVC Outdoor Championships...clocked in a top time in the 1,500m of 5:18.01, also at the OVC Outdoor meet.

HIGH SCHOOL: Kathryn joins the Golden Eagle team from Knoxville Catholic High School where she competed in cross country and ran in the 800m and 1,500m events on the track team under coach Shawn O'Neil...best time in the 800m was clocked in at 2:30.

PERSONAL: The daughter of Steve and Martha Forbes...birthday is June 16, 1991...full name is Kathryn R Forbes...majoring in nursing...sister Rebecca is a Golden Eagle teammate, and her sister Rachel is a student assistant for the team after a successful career as a pole vault and javelin competitor for Tech.
